Yippie Ki Yay Young Things

A belated "Howdy, CYTs"! Allie & I have been unplugged for a while now. We spent a fantastic and unusual Christmas without much class (albeit plenty of sass) at a dude ranch! With no reception among the Saguaro cacti, we opted to power down and enjoy a moment of relaxation. We wish our loyal readers a warm, safe and bright New Year! Happy 2010!

Hella Stella

I just saw this shimmery Stella Throw at West Elm and think it's to die for. It feels oh-so-silky-smooth and has an irresistible old Hollywood glamour. What's the icing on the cake? It's machine washable! Cherry on top? It's on sale!

...Young Things

My thesis statement: education is classy.

(I can't resist a hilarious video clip!)

I Make it Rain

I am not known for keeping secrets, which is why I just HAD to share a great Christmas present idea for a certain CYT blogger. I'm pretty sure it rains in Portland most days of the year, and while Meredith has been a bit slow to accept this fact (she just bought her first rain coat this year), she certainly deserves to puddle jump in style. What could be more perfect for a classy Oregonian than these chic Chanel Camellia rain boots? It's as right as rain.

Will You Marry Glee?

I have a confession to make: I am totally, utterly, helplessly, obsessively in love with Fox's hit show Glee. I am a Gleek. And what's more, I've had no less than 3 strangers (plus countless friends) tell me I look like Emma Pillsbury, the big-eyed, maniacally clean, perfectly polished guidance counselor. She is no doubt the best-dressed character on the show, sporting over-sized bows, pencil skirts, and brightly colored cardi's. I know for a fact that I own several of the pieces she dons. It should come as no surprise then, that I went ga-ga for her Audrey Hepburn-esk wedding gown she wore in Wednesday night's season finale. The best part? It's designed by none other than our favorite J. Crew. I couldn't resist!

Fantasea

There are few things we admire more than a successful business woman with serious sex appeal. And while Martha Stewart may be lacking in the sex appeal department, she definitely impressed both Meredith and I today when she invited Mr. Roberto Cavalli, designer of desire himself, to show off his holiday designs on the Martha Stewart Show. The dresses were nothing short of superb: flirty, sensual, and festive. But it was the photo of Cavalli's yacht that had us drooling. The 130 foot dream boat is covered with a special paint that appears to be graduated shades of purple when viewed from one angle, blue from another, gold from another, and so on. We can absolutely see Martha on this sexy ship, complete with a nautical-themed pashmina afghan, of course.

Supermarket Sweep

Ah, the Christmas shopping season begins. But this year, instead of waiting in long lines to buy yet another tie, sweater, or worse, gift card, why not help the U.S. economy by supporting up-and-coming designers and artists? Supermarket allows you to browse and buy super cute jewelry, bags, furniture, home decor, and prints directly from the designer themselves.

A sleek Pebble Dish from Steel Toe Studios.

Roller Coasters. Obviously. From Words, Inc.

A very Matisse-like marine mobile from Pukapuka Mobiles.

If anyone classy young somebody is wondering what to get me for Christmas, this print has my name on it. Literally. The Allie Print from Michelle Caplan.

This is a little out there, but perhaps your sister has an unsightly fireplace? This fireplace slipcover from aptly-named Ridiculous Designs...as in Ridiculously Good Looking will definitely do the trick.

Heck, I could probably singlehandedly bring the U.S. out of recession on this website alone.

Muppet Break

Hopefully you had a great Thanksgiving! While I was home enjoying mine, Allie showed me the Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody video on YouTube that I've since watched over and over again. I hope you enjoy it, too!
