Palm-Poms

...and Leg Poms, too! Miu Miu's Pre Fall collection sure looks toasty! Perhaps those legwarmers are too cute for comfort; I'd still take them for a test drive.

Silver Surprise

SILVER IS IN says Karl Lagerfeld. Gold has taken a backseat...heck, a vacation from this week's SP10 Chanel Couture collection. Traditional color staples got the pink slip as black, navy and gold were nowhere to be found. Instead, front row fashionistas succumbed to an avalanche of white, silver, light pink and blue. Karl always does a bang-up job weaving his own style into a Chanel foundation. LOVE the silver fingerless gloves paired with classic Chanel jackets. LBDs replaced with PWDs. (Of course I'm referring to Puffy White Dresses here...) Shimmery bejeweled hair accessories set against heart-shaped hairdos. Please, I don't think Karl panders to the masses with hair to ring in Valentine's Day. No, no I argue this is an allusion to the Lady Gaga hair bow. Karl hearts celebs, of course. (Who could forget 2007's Lohan-inspired ankle pouch for the alcohol monitoring device?) Biggest wake up call for me? Another sighting of the grey-streaked hair. Is this the next evolution of the summer's ombre hair frenzy? Keep your eyes peeled.

PS - I do love the silver tights and want them immediately.

PPS - Out of 66 looks, it was nearly impossible to edit down favorites to the 7 below!

CU-TEA

I have awoken out of a work coma to get flippin fanatical about this cuuuute tea infuser...a submarine! My online goose chase to find one for purchase has only lead me to an Israeli-based retailer. It would be a perfect gift for CYT Joyce. I've emailed the designer in hopes of finding a way to purchase one. But does anyone know where to find one in the US? I die!

Two-Legged Bandit

If you're like me and you've spent the better part of the fall and winter in your riding boots, you're probably also trying to figure out a way to keep things interesting. That's why I was thrilled to discover these boot-ylicious accessories from The 2 Bandits. From girlie bows for your wellies to leather and chain bandits for your riders, they'll give you a boot up on the competition.

Talk Derby to Me

Dior got derby in Paris on Monday with a fierce 2010 Couture collection. A little bit equestrienne, a bit bride of Frankenstein and equal parts tranny. Seriously, though, I loved the makeup artistry! Galliano retained plenty of Dior heritage with classic silhouettes and fresh color and fabric pairings.

Macaroon Mania

Meredith and I are beyond obsessed with macaroons (see this post from November '08). The colorful, delicate, and delicious meringue-based cookies make indulging your sweet tooth classy. So naturally we got a sugar high after seeing these macaroons from Pierre Hermé, a famous French pâtisserie. Packaging this adorable is worth breaking your New Year's resolutions for.

Manners Maketh (Wo)Men

After a decidedly un-classy giggling fit Meredith and I got into during Christmas mass this past year, our CYT mother wondered whether we had ever read Emily Post's Etiquette. Originally published in 1922, we didn't think it would still be in print, much less relevant to today's matters. What we found is that the manners bible has been completely re-written and is now in its 17th edition, updated to include both traditional and more contemporary etiquette concerns: table manners, hosting, raising respectful children, as well as cell phone courtesy, on-line dating, road rage, and what she calls "netiquette". There is even an entire website run by the Emily Post Institute that includes manners blogs and tips on everything from online friending to etiquette on the ski slopes. And yes, mom, it even includes guidelines for religious ceremonies.
